Police in Fife are appealing for information following a serious road crash on the A985.
As previously reported, a 61-year-old motorist was badly injured in the early morning crash.
Police Scotland say the incident happened around 5.35am on the A985 between the Cairneyhill roundabout and Kincardine, in which the car left the road and struck a wall.
The driver was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary with serious injuries.
The road was closed for around six hours to allow an accident investigation to take place.
Sergeant Alastair Purvis, of Fife Road Policing, said: “This was a serious collision and we are looking for anybody who was driving on the road or witnessed the incident to contact police.
“In particular, if there were any vehicles in the area at the time that may have dashcam footage that could help officers, I would ask that you get in touch.”
