A HARD-WORKING NHS nurse has got the full 'pimp my ride' experience after winning a competition to get a car makeover.

Dunfermline company Evolution Customs wanted to give back to our frontline heroes and has now kitted out Katie McNaughton’s Seat Ibiza FR with a makeover worth £3,000.

The mental health nurse's six-year-old car went from green to a sleek purple and black finish with a full exterior wrap for free. Ceramic coatings and a valet were supplied by sister company Zoldani and the wheels were refurbished and powder coated in gloss black by Fife Powdercoatings.

Joey Stuchlak, who runs Evolution Customs in Elgin Industrial Estate, told the Press: “We decided to run a competition at the start of the lockdown as my girlfriend works for the NHS at Queen Elizabeth hospital in Glasgow so I know how hard it’s been for all NHS staff.

“We’re in a position that we could do something so we started a competition on our social media page and our lucky winner Katie was picked out of 300 entrants. It was a big project! Her Seat Ibiza was looking quite bashed but it looks brand new now.”

Katie, 24, is a crisis practitioner in Glasgow but at the first to chance to show off her new motor this weekend, she was out to visit Deep Sea World with her son!

She said: “I’m really into cars and I’m actually doing up anther car of mine at the moment! I thought I’d have a go at the competition and to my surprise, I won. It looks absolutely amazing.

“It’s such a nice treat. At the beginning of lockdown we weren’t so bad but after a couple of months it has been really busy.

“I’m just enjoying some annual leave for the first time this week. I couldn’t wait to show my car off at the weekend –it’s very much like pimp my ride but without the big TV’s in the back!”
