A flood alert has been issued for Pollok Country Park today.

It comes shortly after a yellow weather warning was put in place for the city yesterday evening as downpour flooded railway lines and busy roads.

The Scottish Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA) have now said that Pollok Country park is at risk of flooding as they warn heavy rainfall will prolong throughout the day.

A statement reads: "After a period of prolonged rainfall today flooding in and around the Police dog compound at Pollock Country Park, The Sawmill at Pollock House, Pollock Estates, and Castle Golf Course is possible.

"River levels look set to stay high throughout the rest of the day."

SPA are warning locals to remain vigilant and take responsibility to help protect properties.

The Met Office predicts that rain will fall from 12pm this afternoon until 8pm this evening.
