Hundreds have been raised for the family of a teenager who was found dead days after being reported missing.

Cristopher McGee, 17, vanished from Chapelhall on Monday.

But police have now confirmed the body of a 17-year-old boy was found in a wooded area in Airdrie yesterday.

Tributes came pouring in for the young boy, as a fundraiser was launched to pay for his funeral.

Christopher's aunt launched the fundraiser, which hit it's £1000 target in less a day, as she described the "shock" she felt.

She wrote: "This has come as a total shock to our family.

"Any help towards giving Christopher the best send off would be really appreciated at this sad time."
