BARRHEAD Travel are pledging their support to holidaymakers after re-opening in Dunfermline.

They welcomed back the public in person recently for the first time since March.

Leigh-Ann Osoria, store manager, said she and her team were optimistic for the future with customer and employee welfare their "key focus".

They are offering in-store appointment and a virtual help service to help connect with everyone looking for holiday support.

The face-to-face and virtual video appointments complement their existing online and phone offering.

Leigh-Ann said: “We are over the moon to be back in branch and on hand to assist our loyal customers with their bookings.

"It has been great to see our customers face-to-face and to be able to speak with them over the phone as we have missed this during lockdown – nothing beats face-to-face connection.

“We have been working hard and progressing well over the past few weeks trying to get back to as many customers as possible. We had a small team working remotely during lockdown but it’s definitely easier being back in store.

"Our customers have been so patient with us and we would really like to thank them for being so supportive over the last few months.

“As well as helping those whose holidays have been affected, we’re finding that people are really keen to get new holidays confirmed – whether that’s a UK staycation or planning ahead of summer 2021."

Barrhead Travel closed all stores ahead of lockdown on March 23 and continued to work with a reduced team to help more than 40,000 customers whose holidays had been cancelled.

The Press reported previously that five members of staff lost their jobs last month as the entire aviation industry was hit hard during lockdown.

The Dunfermline branch has now seen a rise in bookings for later in the year and into 2021 – with Turkey, Greece and Florida among the favourites.
