A volunteer-based rescue team in Loch Lomond was called out five times this weekend.

Loch Lomond Rescue Boat revealed it had been a busy weekend as they paid tribute to a 12-year-old girl who died in the River Leven on Sunday.

The crew revealed they had been a part of the emergency response that was called to the river near Balloch Bridge after reports of a child in difficulty in the water.

An extensive search, which included two police helicopters, resulted in the recovery of her body from the water by police divers.
