AN elderly man has been rushed to hospital after falling from scaffolding at a house in Carluke.
Police and the air ambulance were called to an address in Jura Gardens in the Lanarkshire town just after 11am today.
The man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital by road ambulance and his condition and injuries are not known at this time.
One Carluke resident told the Glasgow Times: “We heard the helicopter landing just behind our house and thought it must be something serious that had happened.
“Thankfully it looks like it wasn’t needed to take the guy away to hospital. I hope he is OK.”
A spokesperson for the Scottish Ambulance Service said: “We received a call at 1116 hours today to attend an incident in Carluke.
"We dispatched our trauma team, a paramedic response unit, an air ambulance, one ambulance and one critical care paramedic to the scene. We transported one male patient in his 80s to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.”
