ICONIC venues across the city lit up in red in an urgent plea to save the live events industry.

Joining in on the LightItRed campaign venues such as the SSE Hydro, King Tut's and the Barrowland Ballroom sent out a message that the event sector could "completely collapse" without financial support. 

More than 700 buildings registered their support for the campaign across the UK.

The bright red lights of the SSE Hydro tinted the entire area red, including the Finnieston Crane.

The SWG3 also pledged its support to the campaign, after it was forced to postpone or cancel most of its events due to the coronavirus pandemic. 

On Twitter the official account for the venue wrote: "SWG3 are supporting the #WeMakeEvents #LightItInRed campaign, calling on the governments much needed support of the live events industry, currently in Red Alert."

Beloved live music venues also lit up across the city.
