A DUNFERMLINE man landed himself in trouble after sending abusive messages to his former partner.

Richard Galbraith, 37, of Dunn Crescent, appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

He admitted that between August 18-21, he sent offensive electronic messages to his former partner.

Depute fiscal Sanah Idrees said the couple had been in a relationship until 2017.

After the break-up, she had blocked his phone number but later began to receive abusive messages calling her “ugly” and “nasty”.

There were also messages about sexual activity and the woman became alarmed because of the frequency of these being sent.

Another message from Galbraith warned the woman: “Your life won’t be worth living.”

The court heard the dispute had centred around Galbraith not having access to their son.

Sheriff James MacDonald imposed a community payback order with 100 hours of unpaid work.
