A Coronavirus testing site has been set up in Dunfermline following an increase in demand with schools and workplaces returning.
The facility at Leys Park Road in the town centre is being run by the Scottish Ambulance Service and appeared in the car park yesterday (Thursday).
It will operate seven days a week.
It comes after much criticism regarding the accessibility of testing centres this week.
The Press reported in yesterday's paper that parents trying to take children for tests who had symptoms of coronavirus, we being asked to go to Stirling and Perth.
We're now told that some had even been asked to go as far as Inverness.
Councillor Helen Law stressed earlier in the week that "Fifers needed to get tested in Fife".
She welcomed the news this morning that health officials had responded to the increase in demand.
"It was quite disgraceful how far people needed to travel so I'm pleased that we now have something in Dunfermline," Cllr Law said.
"People did not want to make difficult journeys with themselves or their child when they were unwell, sending them to unrealistic places.
"I think that Leys Park Road is a good choice to put the facility in Dunfermline too."
The Scottish Ambulance Service and NHS Fife have both been contacted for comment.
