A WOMAN was subjected to a “traumatic” ordeal by her drunken partner during a break at a hotel in North Queensferry.

The actions of Tony Wilson were described as “appalling” when he appeared for sentencing at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

Wilson, 25, of Baptie Place, Bo’ness, admitted that on June 16-17 at Queensferry Hotel, St Margaret’s Head, he assaulted his partner by spitting on her face and body repeatedly and pouring a bottle of alcohol over her head.

He also admitted he acted aggressively, shouted, swore, made abusive remarks and threatened violence to his partner.

Depute fiscal Sanah Idrees told the court previously that the couple were having a night away at the hotel and Wilson had started consuming alcohol heavily.

His partner began to feel anxious about the amount Wilson was drinking. He then started to become hostile and aggressive towards her, repeatedly shouting “f*** off” at her.

Wilson then vomited all over the bathroom and his increasingly aggressive behaviour left his partner terrified, said the depute.

He then spat on her and when she said she could not believe he had done that, he did so again repeatedly.

He called her a “fat cow” then lunged at her as if he was going to headbutt her, the court was told.

“She was cowering in a corner, terrified,” added the depute.

Wilson then poured a full bottle of beer over her.

Police were later called by hotel staff.

Defence solicitor Roshni Joshi said: “He fully accepts the complainer would have been traumatised by his conduct.”

Sheriff Alastair Brown commented: “His behaviour was appalling.” He told Wilson: “No-one should be subjected to this.”

Wilson was placed on a community payback order with 160 hours of unpaid work. A 12-month non-harassment order was also imposed to protect the victim.
