A DUNFERMLINE man assaulted his pregnant partner by punching her repeatedly.
Joshua McBeath, 20, of Macbeth Road, appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
He admitted that on August 25 last year, at an address in Dunfermline, he shouted, swore and acted aggressively towards his partner and damaged glass panels in a door there.
He also admitted that on May 25, at the same address, he assaulted his partner, who was then pregnant, by punching her on the head repeatedly to her injury.
He also acted aggressively towards her by shouting, swearing, punching a door and throwing two iPads against a wall, damaging them.
Depute fiscal Jill Currie said the victim was five months' pregnant when the assault took place.
“She had told him to get a grip of his anger as he was getting frustrated about nothing. He became enraged and started shouting and screaming.
“He charged towards her. She curled up on the couch. She felt a sharp blow to the side of her head. He had punched her and then continued to punch her on the head, saying to her: ‘Why do you make me angry?’ She said: ‘Watch the baby’. She then ran out of the property and contacted the police.”
Defence solicitor James Moncrieff conceded: “This was a particularly unpleasant incident. He accepts he has issues with anger.”
Sheriff Alastair Brown imposed a community payback order with 160 hours of unpaid work and a non-harassment order for 12 months.
