A CAIRNEYHILL drink-driver was unaware she had struck a parked motor bike in her street when she was more than four times over the limit.

As a result, Eileen Bradford, 45, of Glen Moriston Drive, has been banned and fined at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

She admitted that on June 1, at Glen Moriston Drive, Cairneyhill, she drove a car having consumed excess alcohol.

Her reading was 90 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, the limit being 22 microgrammes.

Depute fiscal Dev Kapadia said: “It would appear she was unaware that she had collided with something.”

When it was pointed out to her that she had collided with the motor cycle, she became upset and police were contacted.

At 2.45pm, the police arrived and Bradford was still visibly upset, added the depute.

Defence solicitor Roshni Joshi said it was her client’s first offence. “She had been drinking and had been intending to go to the shops. She knows it was sheer stupidity on her part,” she added.

Sheriff Alastair Brown fined Bradford £500 and banned her from driving for 16 months.
