FIFE has now recorded 204 coronavirus deaths since the start of the outbreak.

The latest figures from National Records of Scotland (NRS) shows that one person died last week (September 7-13) in the Kingdom with COVID-19 on the death certificate.

It is the first death relating to coronavirus across the NHS Fife health board since two people passed away during the week beginning July 20.

The most fatalities recorded in one week in Fife was from April 13 - 19 when a total of 39 people died.

Since the start of the outbreak, there have been 4,236 deaths in Scotland.

The NRS death total is different from the count of deaths published daily by the Scottish Government because the latter is based on deaths of those who have tested positive for COVID-19.

The NRS figures include all deaths where COVID-19 (including suspected cases) was mentioned on the death certificate.
