A PRISONER given early release from jail sent sex images to a woman.

Gary Anderson later said he thought the woman would have been “flattered” by him sending her a photo of his penis.

Anderson is now back behind bars. He had been convicted previously of sending a sex image to a young girl.

Anderson, 35, of Rolland Avenue, East Wemyss, appeared in the dock at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

He admitted that on March 7 last year at an address in Dunfermline, he sent a message on social media to a woman which contained a photograph of her buttocks.

He also admitted he sent a photograph of his penis to the same woman.

The court was told that Anderson had been given a photograph of the woman by her former partner.

Anderson sent this photo, which was of the woman’s buttocks, to her. He also sent her a second photo of his own penis.

He told a social worker that he felt the woman would not be upset or offended but instead would be “flattered about it”.

Sheriff Charles Macnair said Anderson’s attitude “beggars belief”.

Defence solicitor David McLaughlin agreed but added: “He doesn’t get it. He can’t understand why somebody would not want the image sent.

“He was trying to put himself about after being in prison. He was trying come on to this woman, he tells me. It was a misguided attempt.”

Sheriff Macnair sent Anderson back to jail to serve 190 days of his previous sentence. He will then serve six months for these latest offences. He is also subject to sex offenders’ registration.
