FORMER council offices are still lying empty five years after they were bought by their current owner.
New properties at the back of the old building which makes up Comely Bank Mews have been sold.
However, we're told by Malaco + associates, who were responsible for their sale, that the other part of the development will not be sold.
The owner of the site is Mr Ryan Daly, who has submitted multiple planning applications for 5-7 Comely Park over recent years.
Most recently, proposals to create new homes were lodged in March this year.
The application, which has yet to be determined, seeks to change the use of existing offices to three homes, extend the building to form another house and provide off-street parking.
The Press contacted Mr Daly through his agent for comment he did not respond.
Neither councillors nor Central Dunfermline Community Council said they were aware of what was going on with the derelict building.
Community councillor Fiona Simpson said: "I have been keeping an eye because I love that building and I hate to see it standing like that.
"The other properties that make up the development are actually very in keeping within the area but the last thing I heard is that there had been delays.
"I wondered if they were trying to sell the properties at the back first.
"It would be lovely to see it refurbished because it is such a nice street."
