PUPILS from three Dunfermline schools have been asked to self-isolate after individual cases of COVID-19 were confirmed.

Three classes at Pitreavie Primary were told to stay at home after an individual with links to the school tested positive for COVID-19 while a case has also been confirmed in both St Columba's and Queen Anne High schools.

NHS Fife said the positive case from Pitreavie Primary was currently isolating at home with other household members.

"As a precaution, all children in orange, blue and yellow rooms are being asked not to attend school tomorrow (29/09) and should self-isolate until Wednesday, 7 October 2020 and return to school and other activities on Thursday 8 October 2020."

On Tuesday evening, NHS Fife revealed that all pupils in class 2C3 at Queen Anne High had been asked not to attend school and to self-isolate until Thursday while a small number of pupils in class 2C4 had also been contacted and asked to isolate.

After a person with links to St Columba's High also tested positive, NHS Fife said the positive case was isolating at home and those who had been in close contact had been offered public health advice and had been instructed to self-isolate for 14 days.

In all cases, the health board said there was "no evidence" to suggest any onward transmission within the schools and the risk to pupils and staff appeared to be low "at this stage."
