A WINDOW was smashed and protesters gathered outside a house in Dunfermline on Friday as they believed a paedophile was living there.
The Press received an anonymous tip-off that a demonstration was going to take place at an address in the Abbeyview area.
It said the "people of Abbeyview have decided to carry out a peaceful protest" as they believed a sex offender who had been released from prison recently was staying there.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Around 2:25pm on Friday, October 2, police received a report of a protest outside a house in Dunfermline.
"One of the property's windows was smashed. Officers attended and advice and assistance was given with the crowd dispersing.
"Enquiries are ongoing to trace whoever is responsible for the vandalism."
