YOUNGSTERS from a West Fife primary school have been celebrating winning an award.

Aberdour Primary was presented with a Global Goal award in the Social Enterprise World Forum Education Awards for its work on tackling poverty.

It was among 14 schools from Scotland, England, Australia and Malawi to be recognised by the Social Enterprise Academy for positive work in helping to address sustainable development goals.

In a joint social enterprise between Primary 6 pupils and the nursery, the children set up a clothes recycling social enterprise which is used by the whole school community.

The pupils use their profits to buy and donate clothes to the homeless, as well as support their local foodbank.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they are currently looking at running their social enterprise as a click and collect model.
