A DUNFERMLINE man who punched a neighbour has been ordered to do unpaid work.
Craig McMahon, 45, of Golfdrum Street, appeared for sentencing at Dunfermline Sheriff Court having been convicted previously after trial.
He was found guilty of a charge that on July 9 last year, at Queen Anne Street, Dunfermline, he assaulted the neighbour, then aged 62, by punching him on the head, causing him to fall to the ground to his injury.
Defence solicitor Brian Allison said his client still claimed he was innocent.
Sheriff James MacDonald told McMahon he had been convicted of committing violence against a vulnerable man. He also pointed out that McMahon had a record of violence.
The sheriff imposed a community payback order with 180 hours of unpaid work and 12 months of supervision.
