AN ABERDOUR man was arrested in the early hours of the morning then taken to hospital because of concerns for his well-being.
However, David Webster responded by spitting at one of the officers who had taken him there.
Webster, 36, of Humbie Terrace, Aberdour, appeared for sentencing at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
He had admitted that on December 27 last year at the Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy, he assaulted a police officer by spitting at him.
The court was told Webster had been arrested in the early hours of the morning at Homes 4 Good, Segal Place, Dunfermline.
The police had concerns about his welfare and so he was taken to the Victoria Hospital.
He was accompanied by two officers and once at the hospital Webster became aggressive and spat at one of the policemen.
He was restrained and put in a spit-hood.
Defence solicitor Peter Robertson said: βHeβs very remorseful about this very distasteful incident.β
