CHRISTMAS will still be coming to Dunfermline after councillors agreed funding for festive lights.

An update on local community budget spending was given to the City of Dunfermline Area committee. It included £32,640 for Christmas lights in the town centre as well as £2000 for a tree.

From the budget of £129,390, a total of £4,500 will be spent on winter lights repair and maintenance and £4,750 has gone to the Light up the Auld Grey Toon scheme.

There was £15,000 for the Dunfermline Heritage Trust , £4,500 for a Woodmill High School project and £36,000 for the Maygate Exchange.

Other outlays included £4,750 for the HLF Great Places Project and £1,500 for the purchase of Ridgeback bikes.

From the anti poverty budget, £50,000 has gone to support the Dunfermline Advice Hub, £9,998 to Delivering Dunfermline, £500 on travel vouchers while £2,170 was paid out for holiday activities, particularly for youngsters on free meal entitlement.

And £2,500 has gone to support voluntary organisations for activities and events.
