A DUNFERMLINE business is hoping to celebrate its third birthday by giving back to the local community.

SOS Plumbing and Heating are planning to donate a day's free labour to mark the special occasion and are looking for good causes who could benefit from their anniversary gesture.

Darron Fitzgerald, who runs the family firm with wife Lorna, said they wanted to give something back as a thank you for the continued support they have received.

"We are offering a full day’s labour free of charge for people that would benefit from it the most," he explained.

"This could be an elderly relative, NHS staff, frontline/key workers, a single parent/family on furlough, a local charity or all of the above if we can manage in one day.

"Some examples of the work that we can offer are – plumbing repairs, heating repairs/upgrades, boiler services, a kitchen to be plumbed in or even installing a new boiler if someone desperately needs this done."

Darron said anyone nominated needs to be in the KY4, KY5, KY11 or KY12 postcodes and the initiative will cover labour and not materials which he doesn't stock in his van.

Anyone interested is asked to send a brief description of the person they want to benefit from the help and the work required through a personal message on SOS Plumbing and Heating's Facebook page.
