AN INDIVIDUAL linked to Dunfermline High School has tested positive for the coronavirus

The school issued an update to parents around 8.15am this morning which said: "Working with NHS Fife Public Health and the Test and Protect Team, we have not identified any potential contacts within the school.

"You do not need to do anything, we are simply updating you in the interests of transparency and to provide reassurance.

"For most people, coronavirus (COVID-19) will be a mild illness. The case is self-

isolating. There is no evidence of onward transmission within the school at this stage and the risk to pupils and staff appears to be low.

"Pupils, parents and staff are kindly reminded to respect the confidentiality of individual pupils and staff at this time."

Meanwhile, NHS Fife confirmed fresh cases at other West Fife schools this afternoon.
