A DUNFERMLINE man who threatened his former partner after a chance meeting with her has been hit with a £1,000 penalty.
Callum Innes, 23, of Jennie Rennies Road, appeared for sentencing at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
Innes had been found guilty previously of a charge that on December 11, at an address in Dunfermline, he threatened violence to his former partner.
Defence solicitor Peter Robertson said: “It was a chance meeting with his former partner of four years. His emotions have got the better of him because he was hurt.”
Sheriff Charles Macnair told Innes: “You had separated from the complainer. What she did after that was none of your business but you threatened violence towards her.
“This was an attempt to control your former partner to prevent her getting on with her life.”
The sheriff fined Innes £500 and ordered him to pay £500 compensation.
He also imposed a one-year non-harassment order.
