A REMOTE jury centre for sheriff court trials is to be created at the Odeon in Dunfermline.
Proceedings at Kirkcaldy and Falkirk Sheriff Court will be screened for jurors at the cinema at Fife Leisure Park.
This will allow sheriff court jury trials to re-start after being shut down by the pandemic.
The Scottish Courts and Tribunals Service confirmed that trials at the Dunfermline cinema will begin in February.
David Fraser, SCTS chief operations officer, said: “There has been exceptional progress to secure remote jury centre venues required and we intend to move as quickly as possible to the pre-Covid number of sheriff court jury trials proceeding in Scotland.”
