A DUNFERMLINE woman was caught drink-driving in her slippers and dressing gown when almost three times over the limit.

Lynn Fyfe, 47, of Islay Road, appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

She admitted that on November 16, in Islay Road and elsewhere, she drove a car having consumed excess alcohol.

Her reading was 61 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, the legal limit being 22 microgrammes.

Depute fiscal Alastair McDermid said police received information at around 12.30am that Fyfe was driving in Dunfermline after drinking.

Officers saw her trying to park her car in Islay Road, making several attempts before striking a parked vehicle.

They told her to get out of her vehicle and when she did so she was wearing a dressing gown and slippers.

Defence solicitor Alexander Flett said his client had been planning to stay at a friend’s that night but there had been a fall-out. She then made “a poor decision” to drive home.

Sheriff Charles Macnair fined Fyfe £400 and banned her from driving for 12 months.
