AN INVERKEITHING man threatened to stab himself with a knife after police were called to his home.
Thomas Mark, 41, of Whinnyhill Crescent, appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
He admitted that on August 20, at Whinnyhill Crescent, he held a knife to his stomach, threatened repeatedly to stab himself, threatened repeatedly to kill himself and made stabbing motions repeatedly towards his stomach.
He was unlawfully in possession of a knife.
Mark also admitted that on October 17, at the same address, he struck and kicked the doo repeatedly, acted aggressively, swore and made a derogatory comment towards his ex-partner.
Depute fiscal Jill Currie said that, at 8.30am on August 20, Mark entered the woman’s home uninvited at a time when they had separated and he was living elsewhere.
She had contacted the police and he grabbed a large kitchen knife threatening to kill himself.
Officers told him to drop the knife but he told them he was going to stab himself before throwing it down eventually.
In the second incident, he had turned up banging at her door at 4am. The woman let him in and he was shouting at her. Police were called.
Sheriff Alison Michie imposed a two-year community payback order and Mark will take part in the Caledonian men’s domestic abuse programme.
