A DALGETY BAY woman trying to get child support through legal channels became the target of abuse from her former partner.

Cameron Shearer, 47, of Taylor Court, Denny, appeared in the dock at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

He admitted that on June 15, he sent social media messages to his ex-partner which were offensive and derogatory.

Depute fiscal Azrah Yousaf said Shearer had received a letter from the solicitor of his ex-partner about £10,000 in child maintenance she claimed she was owed.

Shearer responded by sending 43 messages to her that day.

These included: “F*** your child maintenance service”, “I’ll lose my house now, you bitch” and “I will never forgive you”.

He continued with the abusive messages until the police were contacted.

Sheriff Charles Macnair told Shearer: “You had a legal obligation to provide this child support and when your former partner tried to enforce this you became extremely abusive.”

He fined Shearer £600 and imposed a 12-month non-harassment order.
