ROSYTH'S skatepark has been vandalised with football slogans within days of it re-opening.

Graffiti was seen by users after the Old Firm game on January 2 when Rangers beat Celtic 1-0.

It comes just days after the skatepark was re-opened at the town's Public Park on December 21.

The expansion project had been a long time in the making for the Take a Pride in Rosyth Group and cost around £70,000.

The community group had been working to make the facility bigger and more inclusive since 2018.

Martin Rogers, who is the secretary of the group, said he was "disappointed" to hear the news.

New youth organisation ‘Future Youth – Rosyth’, who started in November, have been looking to improve the skatepark even further by adding some colour to the blank canvas.

Coco Ross, from the group, was told about the vandalism by youngsters who use the skatepark frequently.

He said: "It's quite upsetting to see the skatepark vandalised so soon after it has been finished – especially with that type of language.

"I can only hope that we can do something to clean it up and look better.

"We have been hoping to get a street artist to decorate the area and this has definitely speeded up our plans.

"We want to get the people that use the skatepark involved but it's hard to meet at the moment to get plans going."

Councillor Sharon Green-Wilson added: "The community group put a huge amount of effort to expand the skatepark so it's really disappointing that people have done that.

"It's really a shame when people put in so much of their own time and efforts for the community. It totally undermines their work."

A Police Scotland spokesperson said they had no record of the incident reported to the police.
