STEPHENS has secured planning permission for an extension to its factory in Rosyth.
The bakery can now proceed with construction of its new unit on Primrose Lane, to the north of its existing building.
It's part of a wider plan that also includes more than 140 new homes in the immediate surroundings of the new production facility, for which planning permission in principle was granted in January 2020.
J Smart & Co (Contractors) PLC, an Edinburgh-based firm overseeing the development, are set to pay almost £1.2 million in contributions towards transport and education provision in order to build the houses, a quarter of which will be affordable homes.
Fife Council gave proposals for the 24,000 sq ft facility the green light on condition that further assessments of the site are carried out and submitted to the authority before construction begins.
