FLY-TIPPERS dumped a huge pile of rubbish and waste beside a Dalgety Bay beauty spot.

A number of old televisions, storage equipment, furniture and boxes were among the mound left at the road near Otterston Loch.

Local police officers said the sight was "sad to see", and criticised those responsible.

Posting on the South West Fife Police Twitter account, officers said: "Sad to see some more fly-tipping in the area a few days ago.

"This time on the road beside Otterston Loch. Totally unacceptable behaviour. This has already been reported to Fife Council."

The find was only a five-minute drive away from Dalgety Bay Recycling Centre.

The small road, just off the A921, was also where a tractor overturned just a few days ago, leading to a man being taken to hospital.
