PLANS for a new Costa drive-thru in Dalgety Bay are now going to include an "up and over" gym facility.
An application is not yet live on Fife Council's planning portal but agents Architecture Design Ltd have posted on Twitter regarding the change.
Planning permission for the Costa drive-thru by Aldi was granted back in July 2019 but now the applicants are looking to add to the development.
Architecture Design suggest that the building will now be two-storey with Costa occupying the ground floor and a new gym for the rest of the building.
Architecture Design posted: "After months of planning, we have finally submitted our scheme for a new drive-thru #CostaCoffee together with an up and over gym facility at #DalgetyBay."
When asked to clarify what exactly an "up and over" gym is, they replied: "We've designed a two-storey building: on the ground floor is a Costa Coffee drive-thru and on the other side is a gym that goes up the side and then over the top of the Costa ... we think that makes it an up and over?!"
The current permission for Costa states there will be 44 parking spaces around the store and two will be used as waiting bays for customer orders.
The drive-thru will sit beside the £4 million Dalgety Bay Gateway's flagship Aldi supermarket, which opened in June 2019.
A Greggs bakery has already opened as part of the new retail site at Ridge Way, where the former Fleming Building used to stand, as well as Domino's takeaway, Screwfix Direct and a Vets4Pets.
