A man has been arrested following an intelligence-led operation in Fife.
Officers have today (Thursday) arrested and charged a 25-year-old man in connection with the importation of a firearm and ammunition.
This operation is part of the Organised Crime Partnership, with law enforcement agencies working together and sharing information to combat serious crime.
The man is due to appear at Kirkcaldy Sheriff Court tomorrow, Friday, February 19.
A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
The Organised Crime Partnership (Scotland) is a covert investigation team comprising of officers and staff from Police Scotland and the National Crime Agency.
