A BRADFORD man has appeared in court today after previously failing to attend an earlier court appearance in the Midlands.

Paul Capuvanno, 50, appeared before Bradford Crown Court via video link from prison on four cases with a string of 24 theft and burglary charges on them. These include stealing charity boxes from sites in Bradford and other burglaries across the district.

The Recorder of Bradford, Judge Richard Mansell QC, told Capavanno he will next appear before Bradford Crown Court for a further hearing on March 22.

An appeal from West Yorkshire Police to trace Capuvanno, of Mortimer Row, Laisterdyke, in connection with a burglary investigation was launched earlier this month.

A warrant for his arrest was also made earlier this month by South Worcester Proactive CID Team after Capuvanno failed to appear before Worcester Magistrates Court in the West Midlands on February 16.

Capavanno was located by police on February 20.
