A WRESTLING legend has been invited to talk to schoolchildren following a Twitter mix-up with a West Fife politician.

The Press reported previously that WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley tagged Cowdenbeath MSP Annabelle Ewing accidentally in a tweet intended for All Elite Wrestling (AEW).

Our story, which generated 30,000 views online, told you that Foley congratulated Paul Wight, better known for his time in WWE as Big Show, for his move to the wrestling company.

However, he inadvertently suggested that Paul Wight had signed with Ms Ewing in his tweet – to 1.9 million of his followers, instead of AEW.

The MSP saw the funny side as her Twitter mentions exploded with wrestling fans.

Foley apologised for his mistake and Ms Ewing now hopes the gaffe could see the iconic wrestler speak to local primary school pupils about his career in the business via a webcam call.

She said: “When Mick Foley mistakenly tagged me in a tweet last month my notifications went through the roof.

"Some of the memes that came out of it were pretty funny but I can assure my constituents that I have no plans, whatsoever, of becoming a professional wrestler, nor am I expecting any campaign visits from Mick’s fellow wrestler Big Show!

“I know that Mick has done a lot of work for children’ charities, so I wondered whether he would be prepared to do a Zoom call with school pupils here about the wrestling world and his time involved in it.

“I’ve tweeted him and we’ll see if anything comes of it.”
