A CALL has been made to stop the online "Wild West" where sought-after consoles are being bulk-bought and then sold for huge profits.
Dunfermline and West Fife MP Douglas Chapman presented a Ten-Minute Rule Bill in Parliament last week aimed at stopping "scalping" where automated bots snap up coveted items to re-sell at inflated prices.
βIn this online Wild West, it is the consumer who suffers and is made to pay over the odds for their desired goods," said Mr Chapman.
"It is time for the UK government to stand up for consumers and their rights, and ban this cyber malpractice.β
