A VILLAGE in West Fife is experiencing water issues this morning (Tuesday).

Residents in Saline, KY12, have reported trouble and Scottish Water's website states it could be a 'burst water main'.

Scottish Water are travelling to the village this morning to investigate the problem.

A spokesperson for Scottish Water said at 8.15am: "Customers in Saline have reported an interruption to their water supply.

"We are currently on the way to investigate the issue and are aiming to be on site as soon as possible.

"While we investigate, please be aware that you may experience no water supply or low/intermittent water pressure. You may also experience discoloured water.

Scottish Water update at 11.30am

A spokesperson said: "We have now identified the cause of the interruption to water supply affecting customers in Saline KY12.

"A team is now on-site to carry out the repair and start to return supplies to normal.

"Please be aware that you may experience no water supply or low / intermittent water pressure. You may also experience discoloured water.

"At present we expect to complete the repair in a timeframe which means we do not plan to provide bottled water at distribution locations.

Scottish Water update at 1.25pm

A spokesperson said: "We are currently repairing a burst water pipe which is causing the interruption to the water supply for customers in Saline.

"The full repair will take an estimated four hours from now to complete.

"The water supply will gradually return to normal for customers once the repair has been completed.

"We expect it will take up to 1 hour for all customers to have normal water supply restored."
