A DUNFERMLINE man has been fined after an incident with his partner at an Italian restaurant.

Darragh Owens, 39, formerly of Ore Place and currently living at Thurston Manor Leisure Park, Dunbar, appeared for sentencing at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

He admitted that on September 20 and 21 at Carlucci’s Restaurant, High Street, and at his home, he acted in a disorderly and aggressive manner towards his partner, pushed a quantity of glasses from the table, causing them to smash and shouted at her.

The court was told Owens had been for a haircut and his partner was shopping. They arranged to meet up afterwards at the restaurant.

This took place as planned but a row broke out between them. During the incident, Owens pushed glasses off a table outside the restaurant.

Depute fiscal Laurelle Johnstone said: “He pushed a quantity of glasses from a table. He then went home without a key and could not get in until she returned an hour later.”

This resulted in another argument which led to her leaving the house.

The next day when she returned home, there was another dispute between them which resulted in her leaving the house again and phoning the police.

Defence solicitor Alexander Flett said: “It’s accepted that he behaved in a manner he should not have.

"However, the original accusations were exaggerated which was proved by CCTV at the restaurant.”

Sheriff Charles Macnair fined Owens £640.
