A TANNING salon could be set to open near the planned Burger King and Costa in Halbeath.

Indigo Sun, which owns another salon on Hospital Hill in Dunfermline, want to change the use of a unit on land to the west of Macdonald Square in Main Street.

Works are materially complete on site and the tanning business proposes to introduce 10 cubicles within the space.

Should Fife Council approve the change of use, Indigo Sun would have Burger King and Costa Coffee as neighbours after plans were approved previously for two drive-thrus.

Both chains would each have a drive-thru and there will be 86 parking spaces on the site between Main Street and the A907 dual carriageway.

The development includes the former Halbeath filling station but not the derelict Hotel Roma.
