SCOTLAND has recorded two new coronavirus deaths in the past 24 hours, according to the latest government data.

It brings the death toll under this daily measure – of people who first tested positive for the virus within the previous 28 days – to 7,664.

The latest figures also show that 215 new positive cases of Covid-19 have been recorded with a test positivity rate of 1.3%.

The Scottish Government update notes that there was a potential data issue affecting the flow of tests from UK Government sites between 8pm last night and 9am this morning.

The update says that the issue has now been resolved but has impacted the numbers reported today and the missing data will be reported tomorrow.

The number of people in hospital yesterday with recently confirmed Covid-19 was 64 with three of the patients in intensive care.

A total of 2,985,557 people have received the first dose of the Covid vaccination and 1,575,765 have received their second dose.
