POLICE have described the attempted murder of a man in Maryhill two years ago as "targeted and violent".
Samuel Maxwell, 33, and Malcolm Cumlin, 31, were sentenced to nine years in prison each after a trial at the Glasgow High Court on Wednesday May, 12.
The two men attacked the victim on August 8, 2019 on Maryhill Road, near to Glencloy Street, when he was approached and attacked with a weapon.

Detective Chief Inspector, John Morrison, said: “This was a targeted and violent attack which left a man with serious injuries. Their actions could have cost the man his life and we welcome them being brought to account for their actions.
“Following the incident, we issued an appeal for the help of the public and I would like to thank everyone who came forward to assist.
“I would also like to thank the victim and hope that this sentencing will offer him some comfort.
"We are committed to bringing perpetrators of violence to justice and providing all the necessary support and assistance to victims of such offences."
