FIGURES from National Records of Scotland (NRS) show the latest coronavirus death total for Fife.

For a second week in a row, zero deaths have been recorded in the NHS Fife health board area relating to COVID-19.

NRS data has shown provisional figures where coronavirus was mentioned on the death certificate.

With no deaths for the week beginning May 10, Fife's death total in 2021 remains at 193.

Since the outbreak in March last year, a total of 503 people have sadly passed away with COVID-19 mentioned on the death certificate in the Kingdom.

The NRS death total is different from the count of deaths published daily by the Scottish Government because the latter is based on deaths of those who have tested positive for COVID-19.

The figures from NRS include all deaths where coronavirus (including suspected cases) was mentioned on the person’s death certificate.
