SINGER Holly Roseanna is branching out with her new single inspired by Fife's nature.

The song-writer, a member of Dunfermline band The Passing Sages, launched Eden last Friday.

The folk/pop track is inspired by the natural beauty of Tentsmuir Forest in the Kingdom and touches on increasing national concerns of the effects of climate change on our coasts and waters.

An emotional single, which was recorded remotely during lockdown last year, was mixed by Dominic Hardy at Gracenote Studios in Dunfermline and to accompany the release, a music video was filmed at the forest with Michael Groves at Broadwing Media and features stunning panoramic footage across the coast.

The powerful ballad features ethereal, dynamic vocals, melodic keyboards, intricate guitar motifs, as well as conveying an important and topical message.

Holly is encouraging people across Scotland to donate to her JustGiving crowdfunder which will see all proceeds go towards the work of the UK Marine Conservation Society who help to protect Scotland’s sea and coast.

Commenting on the release, she said: "Naming the track 'Eden’ was a nod towards the Eden estuary, as well as highlighting the very Eden-like, tranquil atmosphere of Tentsmuir Forest. In addition to putting a spotlight on the area’s natural beauty, I also wanted to focus on the wider issues of the climate emergency and the impact this is having on our coasts and waters.

"I think it’s important for us all to play our part in protecting our natural treasures so that they can be enjoyed for generations to come."

Eden is available to listen to on all major streaming platforms and the crowdfunder link will be made available on Holly’s social media pages.
