WHY did the otter cross the road?
It's an unusual question befitting of a strange sighting in Rosyth this week.
An unfamiliar visitor had a wee wander around the town on Wednesday.
An image emerged on social media of what appears to be a large otter making an appearance.
Spotted in the Sherbrooke Road area on Wednesday, one woman said it crossed the road near her home before slinking off down to McGrigor Road.
The SSPCA attended to have a look for the animal, but they could not find it.
While many people commenting on the Fife Jammer Locations post - where the photo appeared - thought it to be an otter, others suggested it could be a mink or polecat.
The Press reported earlier this year that baby otters were spotted in Inverkeithing before being taken into care.
