IT WAS feared a woman had suffered a broken nose after being punched by another female in a Cowdenbeath nightclub.

Candice Henderson, 29, of North Drum Street, Kelty, appeared in the dock at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

She admitted that on August 25, 2019, at Partners, High Street, Cowdenbeath, she assaulted another female by punching her on the head to her injury.

Depute fiscal Mat Piskorz said the incident occurred at around 1.30am. Henderson had approached the woman at the top of the stairs in the venue and began staring at her.

He went on: “The complainer felt intimidated and told her to go away, which resulted in an argument.

“The complainer walked away down the stairs with a friend. The accused followed her, pushed past her then stood in front of her before punching her once to the face.

“The accused was then removed by the doormen. The complainer sustained bruising and swelling to her face.”

She had gone to Queen Margaret Hospital because it was feared she had suffered a broken nose but it could not be X-rayed because of the swelling, added the depute.

Defence solicitor Barbara Collie said: “They had both been consuming alcohol and there had been some tension between them. She knows her behaviour was not acceptable.”

Sheriff James MacDonald ordered Henderson to pay £400 compensation.
