A DUNFERMLINE cafe has had to shut until next week due to a positive coronavirus case.

Juniper Wine Cafe on New Row announced on Tuesday that a member of staff had tested positive for COVID-19.

Posting on Facebook, a statement on Tuesday morning said: "We will be closed for a few days.

"Unfortunately, we have discovered that one of our team has contracted COVID-19.

"We have not yet been contacted by the track and trace team. However, as we take the health and safety of our staff and customers very seriously, I have taken the decision to close the shop for a few days for tests and deep cleaning.

"Many apologies."

It was then revealed yesterday afternoon (Thursday), that the business had been given the go-ahead to re-open the wine store today (Friday), with the cafe able to open again on Wednesday next week, July 7.

A statement said: "Further to our last post we have contacted Public Health today and they have given us the go ahead to re-open.

"Unfortunately due to staff self-isolating the café will remain closed until Wednesday, July 7.

"We are opening the wine store this Friday and Saturday 11am-4pm.

"Many apologies."
