POLICE were assaulted in the line of duty in the South West Fife area in the past week.
In the seven days from July 5 to 12, a total of 189 calls were recorded for the patch which covers Rosyth, Inverkeithing, Dalgety Bay, Oakley, Valleyfield, Kincardine and villages, and 25 of them required an emergency response.
This led to 19 crime files being recorded, containing 24 charges.
Crimes included police assault, resisting arrest, possession of class B drugs, threatening and abusive behaviour, assault and vandalism.
Other offences over the week included housebreaking with intent to steal, theft by shoplifting, drug driving and misuse of 999 system.
