ATHLETIC have completed their second signing of the week by announcing a loan move for Rangers winger Kai Kennedy.

The 19-year-old, who had temporary stints with Championship rivals Inverness Caledonian Thistle and Raith Rovers last term, has joined on a season-long deal.

His arrival follows that of former Partick Thistle loanee, Reece Cole, on Tuesday as manager Peter Grant continues to shape his squad for the upcoming Championship season.

Kennedy, who signed a new deal with Steven Gerrard's Scottish champions at the start of the year until 2023, arrives with the Ibrox club holding an option to recall him in January.

A product of the Light Blues' youth academy, he made his first team bow as a substitute in a Scottish Cup tie, aged 17, against Stranraer last January.

In productive spells with Inverness and Raith, he played 10 and 19 times respectively for each of Dunfermline's league rivals.

Scotland youth cap Kennedy, along with Cole, will be in contention for Saturday's Premier Sports Cup tie with Stenhousemuir.
