POLICE on the beat in South West Fife had to deal with assaults, stalking, housebreaking and possession of class A drugs in the space of a week.

In the seven days from July 21, they received 214 calls for their patch, which includes Rosyth, Inverkeithing, Dalgety Bay, Oakley, Valleyfield and Kincardine, and 26 of them required an emergency response.

This led to 14 crime files being opened, containing 25 charges.

Offences included assault to injury as well as threatening and abusive behaviour, theft, dangerous driving, resisting arrest and a driver failing to provide a specimen of breath.
